Carmen Rich, grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. She began her health care
education in 1996 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and completed her nursing degree at Aquinas College in 2001.


While living in Nashville and working as an RN for Vanderbilt, Carmen had
a regular healthcare segment on Channel 4 News, as well as a daily radio
spot on WSM/FM 'The Wolf'. For nearly 3 years, working in media
as a health care advocate, Carmen found her passion for bringing health
care issues to people in a relatable and approachable manner.


Ms. Rich has worked for numerous hospitals around the world including
Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Vanderbilt Children's Hospital,
Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Columbia Children's Hospital and The Mayo Clinic just to name a few.


Carmen has a strong background in Emergency Medicine as well as
pediatrics. She has been a travel nurse working at a variety of
institutions across the United States in order to broaden her knowledge
and gain experience in health care systems. Through her work as a Registered Nurse, Carmen has also had the opportunity to work in clinics abroad in South Africa and Guyana.


Working as a nurse in some of the top institutions the US and working
internationally in remote clincs, Carmen has gained a wide rage of experience in specialties ranging from pediatrics and emergency medicine to home health and geriatric medicine.


Currently Ms. Rich is a RN at Lenox Hill Hospital in the Emergency
Department, as well as a nurse for Dr. Gayatri Devi who founded New York
Memory and Healthy Aging Services in New York City. Here Carmen is
helping Dr. Devi to research and perform cutting edge procedures in the
field of memory loss and dementia.


Carmen has dedicated her life's work to health care. She has passion for
educating people about health care issues so that we as a
nation can take better care of ourselves. By researching medical advances
and resources, Carmen strives to help the general public navigate the
muddy waters of our nation's health care system.
Learning about your health doesn't have to be boring, it can be
fascinating. Carmen wants to arm you with the knowledge you need to take care of your body, have a more productive relationship with your doctor, and how to save time, money, and resources while doing so. By using the media as an outlet she will help raise awareness and call attention to the health issues that are most important in our daily lives. Look for her to be in the spotlight as she champions health care education for the masses. Watch out Dr. Oz, your new nurse has arrived...
